OPERATING PRINCIPLES
Airgun defense Systems are powered by high-pressure air launchers which fire frangible projectiles. Theses projectiles break upon impact and release an extremely effective, high grade pepper irritant called PAVA or Capsaicin.
Compliance is achieved by a unique three-way method:
- 1- Psychological shock: the surprise of being “shot”.
- 2 – Powerful kinetic impact: painful but harmless (non lethal).
- 3 -Super irritant: Pava powder causes incapacitating coughing and a burning sensation in the eyes, nose, throat and skin.
CAPSAÏCIN
- Capsaicin is the active ingredient of Airguns Defense riot solutions.
- A molecule that neutralizes thanks to its irritating effects. They are similar to those of the chilli pepper, causing irritation upon inhalation or in contact with eyes.
- Capsaicin (8-methyl N-vanillyl 6-nonenamide) is a chemical compound of the family of alkaloids, the active component of chilli (capsicum). It is an irritant of the epithelial mammals cells, it produces a burning sensation in mouth, which can be seen as an interesting taste.
- From a biological standpoint, this compound allows the plant that produces it to be less exposed to predation.
